Attorney at Law, with more than 46 years of professional practice. He has actively participated in the areas of banking and project financing, bond issues, and corporate law. He was a partner and senior member of the Banking and Finance Group of the law firm Carey y Cía. Ltda. ("Carey") for more than 25 years. In addition, he was the Head of the Public Law and the Infrastructure Financing Department of Carey, and President of its Legal Education Committee. Throughout his career and before joining Carey, Mr. Martínez was General Counsel of Casapropia Saving and Loans Association, General Counsel of Nacional Financiera S.A. (Finansa), one of the leading Chilean finance companies, General Counsel of Banco Morgan Finansa and a member of the Legal and Tax Committees of the Chilean Banking Association. Mr. Martinez has been during the last years and currently remains as a member of the arbitration panel of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Martínez has been considered during several years by various specialized international publications, such as Chambers & Partners, Best Lawyers and Latin Lawyer, among others, as one of the best lawyers of Chile in the areas of banking, finance and project finance.

Mr. Martínez studied law at the Universidad Católica de Chile and was admitted to the Bar in 1966. He received the Montenegro Best Student Award as the highest ranking student in his class.
